Before the first whistle
Use this playbook to keep event coverage clear, consistent and recognisably Clubhouse. Lead with the action, get the details right and give fans a direct route to watch. Write in concise, confident New Zealand English. Use the kit’s logo files as supplied. Editable social and broadcast templates are not currently available in its PSD folder; request the current approved template from the Clubhouse team.
Pre-game checklist
• Create a broadcast cover (1280 × 720 px)
Prepare a 16:9 cover for the YouTube livestream and website listing. Check the event, teams, date, time, imagery and partner logos. Share the approved artwork with clubs, schools, national sport organisations and participants, together with the correct livestream link.
• Create social previews (1080 × 1350 px and 1080 × 1920 px)
Adapt the broadcast artwork for feed and story formats. Keep event details consistent, adjust the composition for each crop and check that platform controls will not cover essential information.
Use the 4:5 version for a feed post, with a short caption and a clear route to the livestream. If directing fans to the link in bio, check that it leads to the right event.
Use the 9:16 version for stories, with a “Watch live” link where available. Test the destination before sharing.
• Write event previews
Build interest with a short event preview, a verified statistic or an approved quote. Write for the active channel rather than assuming every event needs a Threads campaign. The examples below are templates: replace every bracketed detail before use.
Event preview template
[Team A] v [Team B]. [Competition / round]. [Day, date and time, NZST or NZDT]. Watch live on [confirmed channel].

Game on 👉
Bring fans closer to the live moment with accurate updates, short interviews and standout clips.
• Live interviews
Capture short interviews with players, fans or coaches who are happy to take part. Confirm names and tags, keep the question focused and make the audio clear.
• Live updates
Share confirmed scores, half-time updates and key moments on the channels being used for the event. Keep the wording direct and avoid speculation, especially about injuries.
• Hero Moments
Share short clips that capture the moment clearly. Around 15 seconds can work for a single highlight; let the action determine the edit. Use original footage or approved broadcast clips rather than low-quality screen recordings.
• Spotlight Graphics
Use a result or athlete spotlight graphic when a performance deserves extra attention. Check the name, team, result, imagery and partner requirements before release.
Always on 📸
Keep the story moving after the event with highlights, photography and useful recaps. Share what is available and confirmed rather than promising a fixed release schedule.
• Packaged Highlights
When highlights are ready and cleared for use, share them through the relevant YouTube channel, Clubhouse website and social accounts. Give partners the correct link and credit.
• Social Remix Reels
Add a new perspective with approved commentary or reactions from players and coaches. Keep the context accurate and the edit focused on the sport.
• Image galleries
Link fans to the current image galleries at theclubhouse.nz/imagegallery. Follow the access and download steps shown there. Share selected images with the required credit and permissions.
• Podcasts and longer interviews
Use these formats when an episode or interview has been commissioned and confirmed. Do not advertise a weekly Clubhouse podcast or release date without an approved schedule.
• Email updates
Where an email update is planned, lead with useful highlights, event recaps and verified links. Confirm the audience, content and send plan with the Clubhouse team.
